Castor School visit

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to go to St. Theresetta Catholic School in Castor, AB. I had such a fantastic time doing a felt making workshop with kindergarten to grade four. The children were so enthusiastic about working with wool and had so many questions for me when the workshop was finished. I really felt like part of the school for the day. I'm thinking that if the staff and kids at that school were so nice then the rest of the community must be equally as good also. I put Castor on my must visit if ever passing by list. Today I worked at St. Lukes in Brooks. Again we had our regulars making hand moled handbags. I have to say these girls inspire me. There enthusiasm rejuvenates me. Whenever I'm in a creative slump watching my students can spark some good ideas. I guess we are never to old to learn and inspiration is everywhere. Speaking of which. I'm teaching a weekend course June 13-14. I hope to inspire all my students to create and be creative and totally happy with their wonderful designs. It seems like there is no end to excitement around here. Just got back from feeding my orphan lamb. I left 2 hours ago!! When Dave and got out to the hayshed several ewes were in the midst of lambing. I've got say I just never tire of seeing little lambs being born. I am proud to say we had 2 sets of twins and a single. All are totally adorable and doing fine. Some of the lambs from last week are jumping and bucking in the coral. I enjoy watching how frisky they get. As you can tell spring is my favorite time of the year. Hopefully tomorrow I can post some pictures of my little woolies!

Sundre School Visit

Hey every one. I now have a blog! Just recently I was in beautiful Sundre AB at the River Valley School doing a workshop with k-2. We had such a good time and the finished felted mural we made turned out really well. I was very nervous about this project as I had never worked with 142 very young artists before but everything went sooooo smoothly. I take my hat off to these youngsters!! Here is the finished piece that we made. It is depicting our 3 Western provinces and all the little symbols that you see are their creations.
